Grant by Theophilus Adams and Thomas Butter of London, gentlemen, to John Hales of Tenterden in the county of Kent, esquire, of all their land in Tenterden called "Blossom merlinge" and one acre and 1 rod of arable land in Tenterden aforesaid, lately in the occupation of William Hales, esquire, a cottage and 7 acres of land in Tenterden lately in the occupation of William Howblett, lately given to maintain a light before the image St. Katherine or Blessed Mary "de Pittie" in the church of Tenterden, and a piece of land near "Teynecrosse" in Tenterden, lately belonging to the monastery of St. Augustine, to be held in socage at a yearly rent of 5 s. to the crown; with appointment to William Austen and Erasmus Gyles to deliver seisin. Given on 25 November, 28 Elizabeth [I]. Endorsed on the reverse with notes concerning delivering of seisin and signature and of Thomas Butler.
